The Role of Secular Law in the Beis Din Process

On December 4th, 2011, Beth Din of America, in conjunction with Congregation Tifereth Israel of Passaic, New Jersey, hosted a symposium in the Tifereth Israel ballroom on the topic of The Role of Secular Law in the Beis Din Process.

The symposium featured presentations by Rav Mordechai Willig, Sgan Av Beis Din, Beth Din of America and Rosh Yeshiva and Segan Rosh Kollel of the Kollel L’Horaah Yadin Yadin, Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary at Yeshiva University and Rabbi Yona Reiss, Chaver Beis Din, Beth Din of America and Dean of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary at Yeshiva University. The presentations were followed by a question and answer session with Rabbi Reiss and Rabbi Shlomo Weissmann, Menahel, Beth Din of America.
